When you grant Google Drive permissions, we can access files that you explicitly choose to share with our application. This includes:

• Document content - Files you open or save through Apprised
• File metadata - Names, modification dates, and file structure

Important: We only access files that you explicitly choose to use with Apprised. We do not scan, index, or access other files in your Google Drive.

1.3 Usage Data

We collect minimal usage information:

• Authentication tokens - Stored securely to maintain your session
• Error logs - Used to improve app stability (no personal data included)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Authentication - Verify your identity and maintain secure access
• Document Collaboration - Enable rich text editing and AI-assisted document features
• Google Drive Integration - Save and retrieve documents you choose to work with
• Service Improvement - Understand how to make Apprised better (anonymized data only)

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Client-Side Storage

All your conversations, documents, and settings are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This means:

• Your data stays on your device
• We do not store your conversation content on our servers
• Clearing your browser data will delete your local Apprised data

3.2 Server-Side Data

Our servers only temporarily handle:

• Authentication tokens - Stored in encrypted cookies for session management
• API requests - Processed in real-time and not stored

We do not store your:

• Conversation history
• Document content
• AI prompts or responses
• Files or attachments

3.3 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security practices:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication with Google
• JWT tokens for session management
• Content Security Policy (CSP) headers
• Regular security updates and monitoring

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Google Services

4.2 Anthropic API

5. Data Retention and Deletion

5.1 Local Data

Since data is stored locally in your browser:

• You can delete all data by clearing your browser's localStorage
• Data persists only on your device
• We cannot recover deleted local data

To delete your account and associated authentication data:

• Revoke Apprised's access in your Google Account permissions

You have the right to:

Apprised is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
